FANTIC INTEGRA 180 RACE Mountain eBike

Downhill bikes are so fun. Their big suspension travel, slack geometry and powerful brakes turn the gnarliest descents into smooth, glorious sine waves of love. When it comes to attacking crazy downhills, DH bikes are unbeatable.

But to reach the top of the hill you need a chairlift or shuttle truck (or a very long hike). This massively limits the amount of descending — and fun — you get. So, in the end, downhill bikes aren’t that useful for most of us.

Behold the Fantic Integra 180 Race mountain electric bike. Its suspension, geometry and brakes are almost identical to World Cup downhill bikes … and it has a motor! So you can ride up the hills as fast as you want, whether the lift or shuttle is running, and you can shred the gnarliest descents.

180mm of RockShox suspension (motorless downhill bikes have 200mm), Magura hydraulic disc brakes, 27.5” wheels with Maxxis tires, and the proven Brose S-Mag motor all add up to a polished, fun machine that will help you take your mountain biking as far as you want.

Fantic has been a respected Italian motorcycle brand for more than 50 years. Their ebikes are made in Italy with the design, quality and performance you expect from the land of espresso, Ducati and Ferrari.

Winner of the 2018 Design and Innovation award.

This bike is ideal for black mountain bike trails: These are the roughest, steepest and twistiest singletracks out there. Here’s where expert mountain bikers push their limits and enjoy huge thrills on berms, rock gardens, drops and jumps. If you find yourself on green or blue trails, they won’t be as exciting (or scary) as you remember.

Class 1 ebike: This bike only delivers motor power while you’re pedaling. When you reach a speed of 20 miles per hour, the motor turns off. You can keep pedaling, but it’s a lot more work. Class 1 is the most commonly allowed type of ebike; you can ride on almost any road or bike path, and on many mountain bike trails. Be sure to check your local rules.

Brose S-Mag motor: 250 watts continuous power, 565 watts peak power, 90Nm of torque. This is the same type of motor you find in Specialized ebikes. Of all e-bike motors, we think the Brose has the most seamless, natural-pedaling feel. Excellent on very technical trails.

630 watt-hour battery: This is the “sweet spot” for battery capacity. You get enough range for big adventures, yet the weight is quite reasonable. To estimate how long you can ride this bike, divide the battery capacity by the amount of motor power you’re using. For example, a 630wh battery with the motor running at 250w would theoretically run for 2.5 hours. The same battery at 125w would theoretically run for 5 hours. It’s smart to subtract about 25 percent to account for the occasional wrong turn.

Customization: This bike absolutely rips! To take full advantage of it, you’ll want a dropper seatpost with increased travel. Depending on your leg length and frame size, we suggest 150-200mm of dropper travel. We can help you decide.
